Priscila Norris, MS, MSW, LCSW

Hi! Thank you for being here. I am a mental health professional dedicated to helping people become their best selves. I believe that every person deserves the opportunity to be free from suffering and emotional pain. But beyond that, I believe that everyone deserves the chance to lead a healthy and meaningful life. My approach to psychotherapy is simple: We foster within you the power to change the things in your life that are causing you to be distressed or feel emotionally imbalanced. I believe in taking a holistic approach - or treating the whole person- to enhance your quality of life and overall well-being. 


My areas of expertise include anxiety, trauma, mood disorders, sleep problems, chronic stress, and phase of life and relationship  issues.  I utilize mindfulness-based practices and interventions as well as a variety of evidence-based models, such as CBT and DBT, to address various complex clinical needs.


I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of North Carolina. My formal education includes a masters degree in Psychology, a masters degree in Social Work, and a graduate certificate in Military and Trauma Counseling from East Carolina University. I have also received training on Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction from Duke University, and Yoga for mental health professionals from Subtle Body. I have worked in a variety of settings, such as community mental health agencies and at military installations, and with a variety of populations, such as veterans and individuals with developmental disabilities.


I am a member of the National Association of Social Workers and served as a member of the Board of Directors for 4 years, with the most recent position of First Vice-President, as well as on state and national committees with the association. 


My home and private practice are in Onslow County, and I travel all over North Carolina providing training, facilitating workshops, and speaking at conferences and symposia. I am a life-long student and practitioner of yoga and meditation.
