Amber is a Licensed Clinical Social Work Associate and Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) 200. Amber believes “all individuals deserve a respectful, non-judgemental place where they can heal and grow. I would love the opportunity to provide that space for you.” Amber has a dual Bachelor of Arts in both Psychology and Child Development from Peace College (William Peace University). In 2009, Amber completed her Master in Social Work (MSW) at East Carolina University. Since obtaining her MSW, Amber has worked to better the lives of individuals and families throughout eastern North Carolina. In 2005, Amber began practicing yoga and in 2014 she completed her yoga teacher training which helps to enhance her mental health practice through the use of mindfulness.
Amber is a relational and attachment-based psychoanalytic therapist. She has been a founding member of the Greenville Psychoanalytic Study group, which started in 2013. Additionally Amber has additional expertise in family systems, training in the Gottman Method - having completed her level 1 directly with John and Julie Gottman, Seven Principles for Marriage, Bringing Home Baby, and Family Centered Treatment professional experience.
Amber’s experience includes working in the areas of child abuse and neglect, Adverse Childhood Experiences, complex trauma, anxiety, stress, mood disorders, self-esteem and burnout. She uses a strength-based and trauma-informed approach to working with individuals and families. Mindfulness and Yoga practices may be incorporated based on individual needs.
